Consider Getting a Vacation Home In Cape Town

Updated: Feb 4

Hello, I am Ved Srivastava, and I am a summer intern for Sunil Sethi Real Estate. I am going to be a senior at Irvington high school and will be writing blog posts this summer.

Consider Getting a Vacation Home

My family and I love to travel to different countries. By far, my favorite destination has been South Africa, as I found tranquility in the picturesque safari lodges and was amazed by the wildlife on the safari trips we went on. We were able to see the Big 5 animals (Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo, and Rhino).

My parents have lived in Fremont for the past 25 years and will be retiring in a decade or so. Although living in a foreign country in Africa is ambitious even for them, it is worth taking a dive into staying for a couple of months or even in retirement.

This beautiful apartment is located in the heart of Cape Town, is just steps away from the compelling attractions the city has to offer and is listed at approximately US$225,479.

It is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom house that is perfect for adventurous couples to stay in after a long day of sightseeing in the city. It features high-end finishes and appliances with modern designs.

This apartment is near multiple safari lodges, where you can experience various forms of wildlife on safari trips. The Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, about 2.5 hours from Cape Town, is one of the only reserves in the world where free-roaming white lions can be spotted in the wild, along with the other Big 5. Alternatively, a short 2-hour trip would take you to the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, where visitors are immersed in flora and marine life. Over 800 types of plant species (like proteas and other fynbos that can be found nowhere else on earth), as well as antelope and whales calving in the nearby bay, can be found.

This apartment is also near multiple viewpoints and great restaurants. Lion’s Head and Signal Hill offer a great place to enjoy the magnificent 360-degree views of the Cape Peninsula, the City Bowl, and Cape Town’s southern suburbs. Additionally, authentic African food can be enjoyed at Emazulwini or Arthur's Mini Super.

This apartment is a great place for couples who want a tourist lifestyle in one of the most serene cities in the world.
